April 13, 2020The Organizing Committee of the International Rhodes Marathon, giving the highest priority to the protection of individual and public health, adapting to the measures taken by the Greek government and complying to the guidelines of the World Health Organization (WHO) regarding prevention of spreading the coronavirus Covid-19, decided to postpone the 7th race that was due to take place on May 3rd, 2020.
The new date for the organization of Rhodes Marathon is April 18th, 2021; steadily the vision en compassing this event has evolved to an institution and its scope has been recognized by the international sports community. Rhodes Marathon always takes place at the beginning of the tourist period, contributing to the boosting of tourist traffic and the promotion of the destination; it attracts runners from all over the world, who combine their running experience with their holidays in one of the most popular travel destinations.
The Organizing Committee requests all runners to be understanding of the reasons for postponing the race to a later date, however, in these dire times experienced by Greece and all the people around the globe, protecting human lives is our first and foremost priority.
All participation registrations so far, shall be valid for next year's event; Runners do not need to re-register next year. All participants shall receive an email updating them of the ways to manage their participation.
The Organizing Committee wishes to thank all those who have worked for this event, mainly the sponsors, supporters and volunteers, who, from the very first moment, showed their trust to us and supported the International Rhodes Marathon. We are certain that next year, we shall have better mood, and even greater zeal to organize the Marathon benefiting from the knowledge and experience acquired; we shall organize the best Rhodes Marathon ever!
Till then, we suggest to you all to obey the guidelines given by the State and the scientists of the country in order to win this difficult fight versus an invisible opponent soon, with minimum losses!

The International Rhodes Marathon is certified by SEGAS (Hellenic Athletics Federation) and the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races AIMS to be organised on an excellent coastal route which highlights Rhodes visitors' attractions in the best possible way.
