Registration closes, great champions in the race

Ο 5th International Marathon of Rhodes, the top sporting event of the South Aegean is approaching and the interest of athletes has peaked, while great champions will take part in the race.

Registration is coming to an end and those interested can register for the Marathon, Half Marathon, 10 km and 5 km races online at www.rhodesmarathon.gr until Sunday 22 April.

The runners who will take part in the race, will run alongside great champions, such as Michael Parmakis, 1st in the Marathon of Thessaloniki in 2016, the Kyriakos Simiriotis, 5th in the Athens Marathon and the ultra-marathon runners Pantelis Kampaxis and Stella Markou. With them will be in the marathon and the Konstantinos Flevas, the Greek runner who has run the most Marathons and who will be coming from England, especially for the race!

They will still run the Konstantinos Drossos, ο George Mino and the Matthew Magyar , while in the 10 km. will take part the great Dodecanese champion Rania Reboulis who was the first Greek woman in the Athens Marathon!

Also from Germany will come and run the Marathon, the ultra-marathon runner and journalist  Stefan Schlett, 6th person in the world to have run a marathon on 7 continents, and has a total of 202 marathons and 503 ultra-marathons.

Gold sponsor of the Rhodes Marathon is this year again Adidas through its local store Adidas Rhodes and nominal sponsor of the race of 5 km. The Hotels collection. Also, the Aegean Airlines is the official aviation sponsor of the Rhodes Marathon and offers special rates for groups of more than 10 people, while the Blue Star Ferries which is an official sponsor of ferry services, provides 50% discount for passengers and 30% discount for vehicles who will travel to Rhodes from Piraeus, Kos, Kalymnos, Leros and Syros.
