The Olympic champion Pyrros Dimas ambassador of the 9th International Marathon of Rhodes!

The shine of the three times Olympic gold medalist Pyrrhus Dimas will illuminate the  International Marathon of Rhodes to be held on 21 April 2024 for the 9th time.

The man who lifted Greece high and continues to serve Greek sport as the Secretary General of the Hellenic Weightlifting Federation, travelled to Rhodes and agreed to be an ambassador of the event, which is the most important sporting event in Southeastern Greece.

Him Pyrrhus Demas were welcomed by the President of the Organizing Committee of the Marathon Marietta Papavassiliou, the president of the EAS SEGAS Dodecanese Vassilis Zeikas and the Vice-Regional Governor, Energy, Industry and Natural Resources of South Aegean, Callistos Diakogeorgiou.

The South Aegean said after the meeting with the Organizing Committee: "It is with great pleasure that I take on the title of ambassador of the Rhodes International Marathon, a great race that promotes Greece and beautiful Rhodes abroad in the best possible way. I know that many runners from all over the world come to run on the emerald island, while the participation of Greeks is particularly high and I am happy that I will contribute to the promotion and development of the race, which sends a message to all, for the integration of sport in everyday life. I will be happy to return to Rhodes on 21 April to experience the Rhodes Marathon in person".

The President of the Organizing Committee Marietta Papavassiliou said: "It is a great pleasure to welcome to Rhodes the man who touched us and made us proud for many years. Pyrrhus Dimas continues, however, to serve sport, either as Secretary General of the Weightlifting Federation or as Vice President of the International Weightlifting Federation. We are also honoured that he has agreed to be an ambassador for the sport, because it highlights the ideals of fair play and fair play and emphasises the necessity of exercise."

It is carried out with the certification of the SEGAS and the International Road Marathon Federation AIMS, on an excellent coastal route that "runs" through the most important sights of Rhodes.
