In a festive atmosphere the celebration of the volunteers of the 8th International Road Marathon, held on 30 April. In a hotel room LABRANDA-Blue Bay Resort, the Organizing Committee hosted a dinner for all the volunteers (organized groups and individuals), wanting to thank them for their participation in the races and congratulate them for their contribution to the success of the annual running festival in Rhodes!
The Organizing Committee of the Marathon gave its warmest thanks to all the volunteers and voluntary organizations for their practical and selfless support of the Organization and congratulated them for their excellent work!
"Volunteerism is perhaps the most important factor in the success of the Rhodes International Road Marathon and those who serve it earn the respect and recognition of the participating runners. Their selfless dedication and their valuable services contribute to the continuous upward trend of the event and to the provision of high quality services, both for the runners and the supported organizations of social contribution", stressed, among others, the President of the Committee Mrs. Marietta Papavassiliou.
"Apart from individual volunteers, there are also organised volunteers who participate with volunteer groups. With their presence and their invaluable contribution, they contribute greatly to the success of the event, images, snapshots, statements and information of which will travel to various parts of the world", said among others the President of EAS SEGAS Dodecanese and Vice President of the Organizing Committee Mr. Vassilis Zekas.
"Nothing would have been a success without the soul of the event, which is all the volunteers. Thank you from the bottom of my heart", some of the words of Mrs. Tharreni Zannetidis, the volunteer manager of the Committee.
All the volunteers received a commemorative medal and diploma, while they enjoyed the excellent hospitality of the hotel's manager LABRANDA-Blue Bay Resort κ. Michael Simiacos and all the staff.
The event included a draw for ten prizes (hospitality at hotels LABRANDA Rhodes), offered by the Directorate of Hotels!

Also, the race is supported by the Dodecanese Chamber of Commerce, the Rhodes Hotel Association and the Museum of Modern Greek Art of the Municipality of Rhodes, while it is under the auspices of the Greek National Tourism Organization. It is certified by the SEGAS and the International Road Marathon Federation AIMS, on an excellent coastal route that "runs" through the most important sights of Rhodes.
