The President of the Organizing Committee of the Rhodes International Marathon & Vice President of the Dodecanese SEGAS Dodecanese Mrs. Marietta Papavasiliou and the General Coordinator of the race Mrs. Eleni Adamaki had a meeting with the South Aegean Region Mr. George Hadjimarkos.
Mrs Papavasiliou and Mrs Adamaki informed the Regional Governor about the great popularity of the 7ous Rhodes Marathon which will take place on April 10 with the physical presence of athletes from 42 different countries of the world (and with the observance of the prescribed sanitary measures), after a "break" of two years due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The meeting highlighted the timeless excellent level of cooperation between the South Aegean Region and the Organizing Committee of the Rhodes Marathon with the ladies Papavasiliou and Adamaki express their thanks to the Regional Governor for the substantial and uninterrupted support from the first race until today.
"The Rhodes International Marathon started as a great venture and has evolved into a race that has become an institution for the global running community. The South Aegean Region has played a major and essential role in this success, supporting the event throughout the years. We are very happy for this cooperation and we thank from the bottom of our hearts the Regional Governor Mr. George Hadjimarkos for sharing and supporting our vision to put Rhodes at the centre of the global running interest. We would also like to thank the Vice-Regional Director of Sports Mr. Nikos Nikolis for the excellent cooperation. In an era full of challenges, such as the one we are living through, the value of cooperation and teamwork is clearly demonstrated. We are confident that with the support of the Regional Authority of George Hadjimarkos, the Rhodes International Marathon can reach even higher.", said Ms. Papavasileiou.
For his part, the Regional Governor, G. Hadjimarkos stated that the support of PNAI to the Rhodes International Marathon is given, noting that: "After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, we are back to the big events. The Region that put our islands on the world map and on the world calendar of major sporting events is ready to host again the 7th Rhodes International Marathon, the race with the strongest historical reference and the greatest and most important symbolism. Another global rendezvous of the international sports community, in the islands that teach extroversion.
One more of the dozens of world and pan-European events that our islands have hosted in recent years.

Registrations for the 7th Marathon of Rhodes which will take place on 10 April 2022 continue for the events: Marathon, Half Marathon, 10 km race, 5 km race on the race website https://www.rhodesmarathon.gr/.
Eligibility for registration and participation in the event have the runners who will be fully vaccinated and those with a certificate of infection in the last 6 months.

The Museum of Modern Greek Art of the Municipality of Rhodes (New Wing) will be the registration center for the race.
