Registration for the 1st Rhodes Virtual Marathon opens on 15 March

The Rhodes Marathon adapts to the data of the season and this year offers its friends the opportunity, in an extremely difficult period, to participate safely in the 1^ο Rhodes Virtual Marathon. The primary concern is to protect public health and support the implementation of the state's measures to limit the spread of Covid-19.

The Virtual race will take place from Friday 9 April to Sunday 9 May and will include Marathon, Half Marathon and 10 km, 5 km and 2 km road races.

Registration for the race starts on Monday 15 March and will close on Wednesday 5 May. To register, download the app Sporthive Live/Rhodes Virtual Marathon and register by clicking on the button: Register/Sign Up and select one of the following participation packages:

The simple package includes:

-Participation in the virtual race and results

-Electronic participation diploma

Cost: Free

The enhanced package includes:

-Participation in the virtual race and results

-Electronic participation diploma

-Sending a participation package (race medal, t-shirt and personal participation number). The participation packs will be sent after the completion of the race.

Cost:

10€ for shipping the package within Greece

20€ for shipping the package outside Greece

All runners have the option to run or walk the distance they have chosen at any time from Friday 9 April to Sunday 9 May anywhere on the planet.

After each athlete completes the effort, he/she takes a photo that proves his/her performance (photo from the smart watch, the mobile application, etc.) and uploads it along with the participation number he/she has received and his/her performance by pressing the button [Upload your time/Submit Results] in the Sporthive Live/Rhodes Virtual Marathon app.

Everyone has the opportunity, with a single registration, to run as many times as they wish and improve their performance during the duration of the race.

The results of the race will be updated daily. On Sunday 9 May the race will be completed and the final results will be finalised in the evening. Please note that anyone wishing to receive Abbott World Marathon Major credits from the Rhodes Virtual Marathon must have completed the race within 24 hours.
