April 9, 2019Only a few 24 hours left for the 6th International Marathon Road Race of Rhodes, the leading annual sporting event in the South Aegean Region and the Organizing Committee is taking care of the last details.
"We will do very well again this year", said the President of the Committee, Mrs. Marietta Papavasiliou, for the race next Sunday, April 14, 2019, explaining: "We have been working hard since the autumn. We are taking care of every detail so that the celebration of all pomegranates will be a success. We always aim for a quality marathon. The coastal and flat route, next to unique monuments of Rhodes, makes the event unique!
In addition, the accredited route by AIMS, IAAF and SEGAS ensures the integrity of the event, which will soon become one of the biggest sporting events at world level. I would like to thank all the sponsors who support the event. They are partner sponsors who recognise our efforts and believe in our goals. Without them we would not have achieved anything. They are:

TWO FREE PARKING SPACES FOR SPECTATORS
As last year, so this year, the Organizing Committee of the Marathon has taken care of
two peripheral free parking areas, for easier access to the centre for spectators.
More specifically, there will be one parking lot at the "Kallipatera" public park in Karakonero and one at the Ancient Stadium. Both will be guarded. For the transport of passengers the Commission has arranged mini-vans, which will depart from 11:00 and
will drop people off at Republic Park. They will alternate routes,
every half hour. The last run from the park will be at 13:30.
THE PRESS CONFERENCE AND THE ACCREDITATIONS
The last press conference of the co-organizers will take place on Friday 12 April 2019 at the Best Western Plaza Hotel. The final details of the event and the programme of all the races (Marathon, Half Marathon, 10km, 5km and 1,000m - Municipal Schools) will be announced. At the same time, the accreditation of the media representatives of Rhodes will be given.
The Rhodes Marathon is co-organized by the South Aegean Region, the E.A.S S.E.G.A.S. of the Dodecanese, the DOPAR of the Municipality of Rhodes, and with the support of the Rhodes Hotel Association. It is held under the auspices of the Hellenic Tourism Organisation and has been included in the official AIMS calendar.
