Worldwide recognition for the Rhodes Marathon: Participation of athletes from 30 countries!

The fame and prestige of the Rhodes International Marathon has long passed the borders of Greece, as evidenced by the participation of runners from other countries who will travel to the island to take part in the race.

Although there is still a month and a half to go before the Marathon, which will take place on April 29, 2018, 140 runners from 30 countries have registered so far, which shows the momentum of the event outside the borders.

It is characteristic that every year the percentage of foreign runners who run by the sea and among the historical monuments of the island increases and confirms that the event achieves its goal of attracting sports tourism to the Dodecanese and extending the tourist season beyond the summer months.

Most of the entries are from Great Britain with 31 people, followed by France with 18, η Germany with 11 and then the United States with 10!

Apart from the runners, there is also great interest from the foreign media.

In addition to the journalists who come every year, especially for this year, a crew of Norwegian television will travel to Rhodes to film an episode of the show of Olympic cycling champion Dag Otto Lauritzen, who travels around the world and suggests special activities in unique locations. He chose Rhodes as a suitable place to run in a marathon and apart from the race, he will be filming all over the island. Also a three-member TV crew will come from Spain to film the marathon and run the race!

It is certain that the images of Rhodes, through these initiatives, will make the world go round!
