Strengthening Volunteerism, which is a form of active participation of citizens in the community, with its contribution to addressing the needs of everyday life, the Organizing Committee of the Rhodes International Road Marathon decided to support the work of the active Volunteer Blood Donors Association of Rhodes "Saint Effraim". Indeed, voluntary blood donation means that the volunteer blood donor offers his blood without any social pressure, anonymously, without any reward or exchange, at the time when the donor feels well and not at the time of need.
It is our duty to make all of you aware of the need and value of this offer. In the Town Hall Square, where the finishes and awards ceremonies will take place, both for the Marathon and the Half Marathon and the 10,000 m, 5,000 m and 1,000 m races, a special stand will be set up, from which information will be provided by members of the Association and saliva will be collected for those who want to become bone marrow donors.
