New Strategic Partnership of TUI Rhodes Marathon with the University of the Aegean in Rhodes.

The Organizing Committee is pleased to announce the new strategic partnership of the TUI Rhodes Marathon with the University of the Aegean in Rhodes. Within the framework of this partnership, the University of the Aegean will host the Marathon registration and material collection center in the multi-event hall, while at the same time actions will be organized that will highlight the institution and establish the University as a reference point of the organization. This initiative strengthens the connection of the local community, the academic community and the athletes-runners, promoting education, sports and culture, constituting one of the main objectives of the organization.

It is worth noting that a group of 80 students from the Department of Early Childhood Education and Educational Planning of the University of the Aegean under the coordinating guidance of Professor Dr. Despina Hatzidiakou has been supporting the event voluntarily for years, contributing to its successful conduct. Now, the cooperation of the University of the Aegean with the TUI Rhodes Marathon is further strengthened, constituting a model of cooperation that promotes sports, volunteerism and social cohesion.

Regarding the collaboration with the University of the Aegean, the president of the TUI Rhodes Marathon Organizing Committee, Marietta Papavassiliou, stated the following: "I firmly believe in the role of the University of the Aegean, which is a living cell of our city. The students, by participating as volunteers in the Marathon, not only offer their help, but also create a strong bond with the sporting event, strengthening the spirit of solidarity and local cooperation. The strengthening of this collaboration and the substantial contribution of the University to the organization of the TUI Rhodes Marathon constitute an important pillar of the success of the institution. We warmly thank the University of the Aegean and in particular the School of Humanities in Rhodes for its support and we look forward to implementing this unique sporting and cultural experience together."

The University of the Aegean, through this collaboration, seeks to strengthen its extroversion and actively participate in important events held in the area, promoting the connection of the academic community with the local society and the organization of major cultural and sporting events.

The Dean of the School of Humanities, Loizos Sofos, stated that: "the School of Humanities of the University of the Aegean in Rhodes actively supports the actions of the local community and, through collaborations such as this one, highlights the cultural peculiarities of the island, its cultural resources and attractions, contributing to its broader social and educational development. At the same time, the School sees positively its networking with the corresponding school in Mallorca, where a marathon is also organized, with the aim of further strengthening university cooperation and creating a common meeting place between the two Mediterranean islands through sports."

The co-organizers of the race are the Urban Non-Profit Company MARATHONIOS RHODES, the EAS SEGAS Dodecanese, the Region of South Aegean and the Municipality of Rhodes. The event is supported by the Chamber of Dodecanese and the Rhodes Hoteliers Association, while it is under the auspices of the Hellenic Tourism Organization. The TUI Rhodes Marathon is held with the certification of SEGAS and the International Marathon Road Federation AIMS, on an excellent coastal route that "runs" through the most important sights of Rhodes.
