Collectible medal and T-shirt<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Dedicated to the Colossus of Rhodes and its symbolism, the 1st Rhodes Virtual Marathon. The Colossus of Rhodes was not only a work of unparalleled art and aesthetics. It was built in gratitude to the Sun God, patron of the island. It symbolised the freedom and independence of the Rhodians and has gone down in history as one of the seven wonders of the ancient world.<\/p>\n The technique of the statue has inspired many artists throughout the centuries. It is no coincidence that the French sculptor Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Au-guste Bartholdi, in his attempt to capture the size, technique and symbolism of the Colossus of Rhodes using modern means, created the Statue of Liberty, which is considered a miracle of modern art.<\/p>\n We chose for the medal and the shirt of the first Rhodes Virtual Marathon this emblematic work of antiquity for all the symbolism it carries, which is as relevant as ever, wishing to send the light of hope to the whole world with the help of our runners!<\/p>\n So we dedicate the 1st Rhodes Virtual Marathon to the Colossus of Rhodes, symbol of freedom, symbol of the greatest good of humanity!<\/p>\n Those who choose the enhanced participation package will receive the collector's medal issued for the original event, as well as the t-shirt bearing the symbol of Kolossos Rhodes!<\/p>\n Registration for the race started on Monday 15 March and will be completed on Wednesday 5 May via the Sporthive Live\/Rhodes Virtual Marathon application or the Rhodes Marathon website rhodesmarathon.gr.<\/p>\n Everyone has the opportunity, with a single registration, to run as many times as they wish and improve their performance during the duration of the race.<\/p>\n The simple package includes:<\/strong><\/p>\n -Participation in the virtual race and results<\/p>\n -Electronic participation diploma<\/p>\n Cost: Free<\/strong><\/p>\n The enhanced package includes:<\/strong><\/p>\n -Participation in the virtual race and results<\/p>\n -Electronic participation diploma<\/p>\n -Sending a participation package (race medal, t-shirt and pre-personal number). Hospitality sponsor is Mitsis Hotels Group and official sponsors are Ae-gean, Blue Star, Istorm and Fibran.<\/p>\n Social purpose<\/strong><\/p>\n Part of the proceeds of the race will be donated to the hospital to cover needs related to the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
