Start Eleftheria Plstia Eleftherias<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Award Ceremonies Eleftherias Square: 10:30 Half Marathon &amp; 10km.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">11:15 Marathon<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a013:30 5K &amp; Team<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">12:00-14:00 Concert by the Rhodian Musicians Association with Rhodian artists at Eleftherias Square.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the 5K race, under the auspices of EOT &amp; the Ministry of Tourism,<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the action will take place <\/span><b>#run_for_tourism<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, where representatives of tourism operators and businesses wearing a special T-shirt will run in the race.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Another great distinction for <\/span><b>Marathon of Rhodes<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is the <\/span><b>Gold Award<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> won by <\/span><b>Region of South Aegean<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for the organization of the race, in the annual <\/span><b>tourism awards<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> awarded on Tuesday evening 9 April at a glittering ceremony at the <\/span><b>Foundation of the Hellenic World.<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>Region of South Aegean<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for the organization of the <\/span><b>International Marathon of Rhodes<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which will be held for the 6th time next <\/span><b>Sunday 14 April<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, won the <\/span><b>Gold Tourism Award<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in the category <\/span><b>Sports Tourism<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in Specialty Travel, which is a great recognition of the efforts that have been made for the past six years to promote Rhodes, the Dodecanese and the South Aegean as a top sports tourism destination in Greece.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The award was received by <\/span><b>President of the Organizing Committee and Vice-Regional Head of Culture, Sports and Education of South Aegean, Marietta Papavassiliou<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\"This distinction in the leading institution of tourism awards in our country is great, because it rewards the effort we have made all these years for the promotion and recognition of the Rhodes Marathon. Our vision was to put Rhodes on the map of global sports tourism and we see that this goal is taking shape. We would not have succeeded, however, without the undivided support and help of the residents of Rhodes, the island's institutions and our valuable volunteers, who have contributed greatly to this success and we thank them. I also thank my colleagues all these years, for the hard work they have done and continue to do, with real passion for the implementation of our struggle, as well as the sponsors because without their contribution this dream would not have been realized.
