It strengthens sport and marries it with the sectors of tourism and culture, aiming to promote the unique experiences offered by the South Aegean. In practice, we can see that participation in sporting events boosts travel while promoting the destination in the tourist markets through these events.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><em>In the Cyclades and the Dodecanese, important running races and sporting events in general take place that enhance the tourist image of the destinations. Some sporting events, such as the Rhodes International Marathon, are institutions, while others are very close to being established.
