My first half marathon in Greece was Rhodes Marathon on the 30th of April 2023! Parts of the route in the old-town and Mandraki-port have stunning views. I enjoyed every step of my 21.1 kilometers. Other parts were challenging for a Dutchman who is used to flat courses, but with some sunshine and the support of the locals you will run easy. Since 2001 we promote tourism to Greece in The Netherlands daily on our online portal Griekenland.net. The Rhodes Marathon is a great possibility to combine sports with a relax vacation on the beach or to organize as a city-break for some days to Rhodes-town. Thank you for the great hospitality. I will be back.’
“The 7th Rhodes Marathon has been a perfect comeback after the two years break owed to COVID. The Greek weather god Zeus and the sun god Helios made the best weather conditions runners can have. The organization was very good – no problems for participants! They have been not so much as before the break, but the atmosphere for them was good! The slogan “Small, but very fine” is not only a description but also a true compliment for the Rhodes Marathon. It is a very good alternative as marathon in springtime, when the weather in Middle Europe is still not the best for running. So I will recommend: notice the 8th Rhodes Marathon in April 2023 in your running calendar!” Axel Künkeler, free journalist working for one of the leading web-based runners magazines in German-speaking area: www.laufreport.de
All roads lead to Rhodes for German fitness magazine Spiridon "You can explore the entire north-east of the island along the route. Always by the water, passing the walls of the lovely old town which is a Unesco world heritage site, and then onwards again with view of the mountains around the Marmaris mainland"
"Our romantic sporting minibreak was fantastic. We both fell in love with Rhodes and everything Greece; yes, even running in the heat. Next year’s Roads to Rhodes Marathon is on 29th April, Susi’s birthday, and we have both fully committed to returning and running the half-marathon. I told you we’d fallen in love with the place."
